Exhibitions
Exhibitions offer a visual and reflective extension of Balbir Singh Dance Company’s work. Whether drawing from performance archives, exploring cultural themes, or developing interactive installations, the company’s exhibition work provides a different lens through which audiences engage with dance. These curated experiences encourage pause, provoke thought, and invite participation beyond the stage.
Balbir writes: “Over the last few years as part of art sector development and collaborations exploring green spaces, health and wellbeing, conferences, libraries and academic events I have developed a team to help shape content, narratives, stories, audience engagement and profile raising.
We do this through such places as empty high street shops, museums, libraries, green spaces, GP surgeries and universities. Due to the varied themes behind the work we can find new stories constantly and having two inhouse designers is part of the ‘engine room’ that defines the company beyond the live performance.”
