Festivals, parades and celebrations

Performing as part of a programmed festival, a cultural festival or a parade is an effective way of connecting with new audiences in different ways.

Key festivals have included Billingham International Folk Festival of World Dance, Anhad, Huddersfield Literature Festival, Bradford Festival, Northern Man Festival.

BSDC has also participated in parades such as Leeds Pride and outdoor processional work.

Cultural festivals such Diwali the Festival of Light and Holi Festival have also begun to feature in the company’s diary.

Balbir writes: “Celebrations and festive gatherings allow me a creative exploration, artist development and audience connection in surprising ways.”
