Renowned Mexican artist Carmen Avalos was inspired by The Two Fridas project to create a new painting.

Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Carmen Avalos studied sculpture at the Escuela de Artes de la Universidad de Guadalajara with Professor Rafael Zamarripa, among others.
She went on to develop a passion for painting, with Professors Alfonso de Lara Hallardo and Jorge Mertinez. While living in Switzerland for twenty years, Carmen’s art was held in many different galleries and museums, including the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, and the Espace d’Art of the United Nations in Geneva.
Her artistic accomplishments in Mexico include over a hundred solo and collective exhibitions. Some of her work is also displayed in Jadite Gallery in New York.
