On the trail of the Gledhow Valley Fairy
Balbir Singh Dance Company partnered with Friends of Gledhow Valley Woods to present a taster session and four themed walks in the local woods, organised by lead partner Space 2 Leeds.
These interactive story walks took place in 2021 and were well attended by an enthusiastic audience. Following taster workshops, the walks were framed around themes, each one ’on the trail of’ something real or mythical: ‘The Gledhow Valley Fairy’, ‘The Senses’, ‘Herbs and Spices’ and ‘Diwali’. In a year when people were wrangling with lockdowns and difficulties, the artists and community members relished being outside in green spaces with an opportunity to meet new people, move in nature and discover new things.
